Hello, my name is Jonathan Prykop. I have been developing and programming for the web professionally since 1997. I am currently accepting clients as a web technology consultant and part-time web application developer. I am interested in both short-term and long-term projects, from setting up a simple static web site for your small organization to developing new complex applications.
References and most contact information have been omitted from the web version of my résumé. For more information, please send an email to web@prykop.com. I look forward to hearing from you.

Aug 2001 - Feb 2002, Assistant to Sales Manager
Began by developing an internal website for the Sales Department, designing and maintaining HTML with CSS, and worked my way up to become a full member of the Web Application Development group by 2002. Responsibilities included development of several web and database driven systems (using perl, xhtml/css, mysql and Oracle) for human resources, information channels and product distribution; and maintenance, evaluation and redevelopment of outdated and poorly written preexisting systems. Together with my team I was also responsible for Apache web server configuration and maintenance on RedHat Linux systems.
Oct 1997 - Jun 2001, Webmaster
Responsible for full system development and maintenance of the Theatre School's website, including maintaining the web server (IIS and later Apache running on WinNT), full development of website--look, structure and content--and development of site scripts using perl and PHP.
All of my experience with these languages and servers is in the context of web site development and maintenance.
I have particular familiartiy with the CGI::Application and DBI perl modules and object-oriented module development. I am eager for opportunities to use Python professionally. I have only listed the languages that I am most proficient in, and I am willing to work in others. I'm a quick study, and I learn new languages when the opportunity arises to implement something with them.
Fully proficient as a user on Mac, Windows and Linux systems.
Since 2007 I have been using and refining my own homegrown "disc jockey AI" to play music for me from my collection based on my previous listening habits. It does not rely on "meta" information like genre or artist (as Pandora does) nor does it rely much on user feedback, rather focusing particularly on translating the log of past plays into a present recommendation. Though my current clients have no need of such functionality, I have been looking for the opportunity to develop similar recommendation algorithms for professional websites based on web access logs.
